Secret Shadows
In a room filled with all your loved ones and your accolades
Sometimes the dark shadows will try to penetrate
From the annals of time there has been a battle between dark
and light
We all go through personal battles and fights
Your smiles and your laughter used as your security blanket
Your jokes and your character mask the pain
People only see the surface, they only see your skin
They don’t have the X-ray vision to see what lies within
Your friends can’t see that your heart doesn’t pump love
anymore
Your circulatory system is contaminated by past hurts
Your lungs breathe sorrow
Confusion and stress are hidden in your stomach
You’re pregnant with troubles, giving birth to destruction
It’s a shame your loved ones can’t read between the lines
All they see is your big house, big money and big success
The cars parked outside your drive are vehicles of deception
You seem care free but you’re living in a prison inside your
mind,
You’re serving a life sentence and illusion is your
handcuffs
I wish people could see the bigger picture,
I wish people had an open heart and an open mind
The tell lies like real men don’t cry
Open your eyes! If you look closely you can see the shadows
chasing…
